Fernando Vidal-Vanaclocha, M.D.
Dr. Fernando Vidal-Vanaclocha obtained his MD from the University of Valencia School of Medicine and his PhD from the Basque Country University in Bilboa, Spain. He is a full professor of Cell Biology and Human Histology, the Vice Dean for Research and International Affairs, and Scientific Director of the Institute of Applied Molecular Medicine at the CEU-San Pablo University School of Medicine in Madrid. He is Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) at the Hospital of Madrid Scientific Foundation. His basic research focuses in organ-specific models of cancer metastasis and angiogensis, and on the effects of inflammation and oxidative stress in the regulation of metastatic cancer cell behavior. His translational research deals with molecular pathophysiology of cancer metastasis in patients with breast and gastrointestinal cancers. Formely, he served as Senior Vice-President for preclinal sciences at the INBIOMED Foundation and CSO at the Pharmakine SL.
